Badger. Badger. Badger

The British LOVE their badgers. Exhibit A:

  1. I've never been sure if loving a critter and stuffing it are compatible. Like the people who love butterflies so they run around catching them, killing them and then pinning them to boards and hanging them on the wall. If that's love, it's kind of creepy - almost Criminal Mind-ish.

  2. When I saw the first 2 photos, I thought it was a badger on your toilet seat in your flat (what with your descriptions of the state of your shared loo).
Maybe Leslie, just maybe, Billy Badger had a long, happy life as a much loved dear house pet and then when Billy passed, the grieving family stuffed him so he could always be with them. Maybe, maybe?
    Too Polyannaish? I thought so.

  3. Truth. I think there is a criminal minds ep about a guy kidnapping women then keeping their hearts in jars. In my head all of these animals died of natural causes in the forest hospital. They died in their sleep and it was their last will and testament to donate their bodies to science/museum display. They even kindly posed during their death to make it easier for us to "mount" them. Don't shatter my dreams.

  4. I am sure you are right K8T and the unicorns and forest nymphs came and laid flowers at the feet.

  5. Maybe they died of old age. The unicorns and forest nymphs laid flowers at their feet and pushed them into a peat bog. There's a lot of those in England. Then someone found them still perfectly in tact, cleaned them off and moved them to the museum. Now that's all sorted out so we should all be able to sleep tonight.
